MARTINGALE is a 'SARL' created in december 2003 by Jean-Philippe Béraud and a few financial partners, all family and friends.

This company is both a label and a services provider. As far as the label is concerned, our aim is to release skilled indie-pop / indie-rock acts from all over the world through licensing deals from foreign labels. MARTINGALE is also dedicated to sign an produce a small number of european artists.

Our experience and contacts can also be used for other projects through a wide range of services dedicated to music business (labels, artists, publishing companies, distributors, managers, booking agents...). We can work on projects with almost every kind of music, but we need to believe in the artists we work for. Even for them, we will sometimes need to refuse offers if we are already busy with too many other projects.

MARTINGALE n.f (provenç. martegalo, de Martigues) : Système de jeu qui prétend, selon des principes fondés sur le calcul des probabilités, assurer un bénéfice certain dans les jeux de hasard.
A martingale is a kind of 'winning-formula' used for instance at roulette. Basically, this name means we do our best to insure everything is done to achieve success, but we know that in the end of the day, music business is just a game of chance.
