Among all people working for artists upon non directly musical issues, managers surely are the closests to them. From the beginning to the top of a carreer, their role is nothing but keeping an eye over everything and let the artists focus upon music. A real manager is almost a friend, (s)he has to be there in bad times as in good times, (s)he is often the only one able to make an honest and sincere critique. A manager has to understand this business clearly enough to explain everything an artist wonder about. Moreover, a good manager is someone an artist has to trust enough to let him / her make important choices.
